Designed and built by Hillyards (No. 448) of Littlehampton in 1950.
Construction is Mahogany planks on steamed Oak timbers, with bolted-on iron keel and additional loose iron ballast to trim.
The original pine deck has been sheathed in GRP cloth, otherwise her construction is totally original.

The accommodation onboard is well ahead of its time, including sitting headroom, plenty of stowage, chart table, and galley. The design of the companionway allows indoor-outdoor living due to its generous width; a feature usually found on much more modern boats.

The 2.5 tonne Hillyard was the smallest and possibly the prettiest design to come out of the Hillyard yard. They were built for 30 years from the early 1920's and proved incredibly popular, partly because of the marketing campaign in the 1930's which promised a sailing cruiser for under £100. They were renowned for being sea kindly and responsive and ideal for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
This example has a very unusual history being in the same ownership from 1950 until 2005, and for the last 18 of those years she was stored under cover ashore, hence her very original condition.
If not quite yet a museum piece, she may well be the most original Hillyard still in commission and she would be a privilege to own and sail.
