Broker's Comments
“She was one of the most popular small cruisers of her time.” said Sailing Today Magazine in January 2004, and from what I have gathered talking to past and present owners I can understand why.
I like the big cockpit, which gives her the feel of a much larger boat. The mainsheet has been shifted from abaft the helm to the bridge deck, thus making her much easier to handle shorthanded. Good wide side decks for her size, and having the huge forehatch mounted on the coachroof leaves her foredeck clear for work.
Those of you who follow Boatshed Port Solent regularly will know that I am a great fan of bilge keels, and as time goes on it is becoming harder to find really nice examples of yachts that will let you dry out with the minimum of fuss – so come along folks, this boat is a rare opportunity!
You will have noticed that she is fitted with a Beta 13.5 HP Diesel on a sail drive, so under power she will handle like a more modern yacht and you won’t have to worry about replacing an old Volvo!
This Jaguar 27 for sale with Boatshed Port Solent really is in first class order. She is small by today’s standards, but the layout and finish down below give her a real “little ship” feel. Her woodwork and upholstery is in tip-top condition, beautifully maintained by her present owner, who takes a great pride in his yacht.
Just ring me or drop me an email and we’ll get along and see her – it will be worth the journey!
