Broker's Comments
Built by a shipwright for himself, sold to an elderly gentleman who, sadly widowed, did not launch her. Now refitted and offered for sale by her third owner, another shipwright, who has restored her to better than new, this little beauty is a true gem!
To all intents she is a NEW wooden boat built to highest quality scantlings, I cannot even guess what she would cost to build now but she is a proper yacht that would once have been described as a 'Gentleman's Weekend Cruiser'. Whilst not equipped for ocean going she is perfectly capable of cross channel and coastal work in the right hands. Her owner, as well as having once been a boat builder and Harbour Master, has done several transats, lived aboard his own yacht (with wife) for many years and is now a marine artist. He is not getting enough time to sail this one other than short day sails and would like her to find a new owner who will appreciate her. He is not about to give her away though so any offer would need to be close to the asking price.
A 'new' wooden yacht for the price of a second hand plastic replica? One that needs no more than a lick of paint/varnish every couple of years? Tempting eh?
