The three Detroit Diesel 12V-71 twin turbo after cooled engines are rated at 750 hp each. The port engine has 3400 hours on it since the last rebuild, the center has 4400 hours, and the starboard has 4400 hours.

Three generators provide power: An original Detroit 3-71 genset (2500 hours) provides 30KW of 208V 3-phase AC power. A newer 20KW Northern Lights genset (5900 hours) provides 20KW of 208V 3-phase AC power. 208V 3-phase power is used for the vessel's bilge / fire pumps and the Ingersol Rand air starters installed on the Detroit engines. The air starters are powered by two 208V air compressors housed in the engine room.

The fuel consumption of 30 gallons per hour at a cruising speed of 11 knots also accounts for the 20KW genet's fuel consumption which must run while underway.

An Onan 8KW provides 240V split-phase AC power for lighting. The Onan genset currently requires a new water pump to be operational.

The vessel is configured for a 3 Phase 208v 100A shore power connection.

Two 12V 8D batteries provide an emergency power supply to the wheelhouse. The 20KW and 30KW genset both have a dedicated 12V 8D start battery.

An extremely extensive multi-year refit (2019-2021) includes the following upgrades to the vessel's mechanical and electrical systems:

For moorage the total length is 103 ft.

Originally built for and operated in service of the offshore oil industry in the Gulf of Mexico, this US-built vessel was converted to a passenger vessel and has operated as a tour and whale watch vessel for many years on both coasts.

The construction is aluminum and the vessel has recently undergone a full top to bottom sandblasting and repainting. Hull plating was cropped and renewed at that time as were additional measures listed below to improve the performance and capabilities of this vessel. An extremely extensive multi-year refit (2019-2021) includes the following upgrades to the vessels hull, deck, structure, and trim/stability:

-Top to bottom sandblasting
-Hull plate cropped and renewed (aft of struts on bottom)
-Any pitting in hull plate repaired to USCG standards
-7-layer International Paint system applied in 2020
-5 tons of fixed ballast installed in accommodations bilge, which allowed for top deck passenger limitation to be increased to 60 passengers from 34 passengers
-Structural stanchions on main deck and machinery space replaced to accommodate top deck passenger increase
-All seacocks serviced in 2019
-Replaced seacock aluminium top hats in engine room

Note that all upgrades are reported to be well documented and are approved by the USCG Marine Safety Center.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature

Climb a gangway to board the vessel midships from and step aboard the main deck. Exterior walk around decks provide access forward and astern. A portside entry door provides access to the interior of the main deck cabin. This is a large, bright, and open space with good lighting thanks to large new windows which run the length of the cabin to both port and starboard. Overhead lighting is provided by new dimmable LEDs. This aft portions of the main cabin is intended to be the dining room, and is attractively fitted out with stained mahogany woodwork. The interior deck is ready for installation of new carpet or other decking material. There are two head compartments (one to port and one to starboard) that are currently undergoing renovation at the aft end to the main cabin. An aft door provides access to the exterior of the aft deck.

The forward part of the main cabin, also fitted out with mahogany woodwork and new lighting is intended to be set up as a lounge, with a bar located on the forward starboard side of the cabin. This location was selected for the bar because it is located directly above the walk-in refrigerator on the lower deck and therefore minimizes the run for beverage tap lines.

A step up and forward from the lounge is a crew quarters / staging area. The galley is located below, and the addition of a dumbwaiter would make this space an ideal staging area for servers for service into the bar and dining room.

Forward yet is a tidy wheelhouse with a centerline helm. The helm, engine controls, instruments and electronics are all within easy reach of the helm station. Two side doors make for easy access to the exterior decks. Like much of the rest of the boat the wheelhouse was torn down and rebuilt during the refit.

Access to the lower deck is accomplished via ladder located in the lounge. The lower deck is laid out with the appropriately sized galley for the vessel's intended purpose up forward. The galley features a 6 burner Imperial stove and has been prepared to be fitted with industry standard food-grade FRP panels. Just aft of the galley and to starboard is a walk-in reefer, also in a similar state of preparation.

A passageway runs aft down the centerline of the vessel with staterooms to port and starboard. There are four two-berth staterooms, plus a captain's stateroom / office, for a total of five staterooms - useful for international voyages (the Certificate of Inspection allows for up to twelve passengers to be carried on international voyages). This accommodations area also features a head compartment equipped with a shower/tub and marine toilet plumbed to the raw water system.

Further aft and through a watertight door is the generator room which houses the generators (8KW, 20KW, 30KW). Also housed in the generator room is a well-equipped workbench and toolboxes, the bilge pump system, fire pump system, raw water system (for toilets and deck wash down), and main power distribution panel.

The engine room houses the three Detroit main engines and two air compressors which are used for starting the mains.

Aft of the engine room and through another watertight door is access to the lazarette. The lazarette houses the steering gear, a 1400 gallon freshwater tank, and a 300 gallon holding tank.

The main deck features walk around decks with high recently polished aluminum railings supplemented and made safer by newly installed stainless steel safety cabling. The deck looks sharp, due to its recent nonskid and paint application. Aside from the drum windlass and anchor chain the foredeck is open. Public access to the upper deck is by ladder on the aft deck, but there are vertical ladders just aft of each wheelhouse door to provide quick access for crew. The upper deck is open and expansive, and measures 88 ft by 14 ft. Recent modifications to the vessel have resulted in a USCG-certified upper deck capacity of 60 passengers due to the addition of 5 tons of ballast. A davit provides lifting capability for a tender, and life rafts are also stowed topside.

A 5 ft boarding step / swim platform on the stern is handy for boarding and skiffing people to and from shore.

An extremely extensive multi-year refit (2019-2021) includes the following upgrades to the vessels accommodations and accommodation spaces:

-Insulated main deck and galley exterior bulkheads with fire retardant insulation
-Replaced all windows and made 9” taller on port and starboard sides
-All new interior finish work on bulkheads and overheads consisting of stained and varnished mahogany
-All new interior light fixtures on main deck and galley (LED)
-All new exterior courtesy lights on main deck (LED)
-Cleaned freshwater tank in 2019
-Installed domestic fresh water filtration
-Installed new plumbing from the freshwater tank to the pressure pump

Note that all upgrades are reported to be well documented and are approved by the USCG Marine Safety Center.

VIRTUAL TOUR - VIDEO - 80 TO 100 PHOTOS - FULL SPECS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS VESSEL!

The improvements made to this vessel since 2019 are staggering - new paint, new plumbing, new wiring, new and larger windows, new mahogany interior, new LED lighting, new ballast and a corresponding increase to the upper deck capacity, new appliances, and more. These improvements make this boat a nearly-ready and straightforward opportunity to make your on-the-water goals a reality.

With a large top deck, spacious main cabin, and reenvisioned galley, this boat has the layout necessary to operate as a dinner cruise platform or provide other passenger service. The five staterooms on the lower deck offer the potential for extended voyages (this vessel is certified to carry up to twelve passengers on international voyages).

Though work and upgrades on the vessel are substantial, the boat still offers a blank canvas and a ready platform for the next owner. Key design decisions that would depend on the boat’s final purpose are yet to be made – from the flooring in the main deck cabin, to seating arrangements for guests or passengers.

Built in Morgan City, LA in 1974 this vessel first proved itself in the offshore oil industry before entering service as a passenger vessel in Boston and then later in the Pacific Northwest.

The current Certificate of Inspection allows for 130 passengers, and requires 3 crew - a master and 2 deckhands. Three main engines provide a good degree of control and maneuverability.

Gross tonnage is documented at 96 tons. A displacement of ~77 tons allows for haul out at many yards via Travelift.

If desired, the new owner can purchase the LLC which owns the vessel - thereby obtaining the rights to (1) lease the 110 foot private dock in Squalicum Harbor Marina (steps away from ample parking) and (2) a liquor license issued by the city.
